… then you probably try very hard to reduce the impact your family has on the environment. However, the conclusion we have reached is that this is much easier to achieve at home than whilst taking a well deserved break or holiday. Indeed, many of us probably don’t give a second thought to environmental issues when planning our holidays.

Now let’s be honest, a motorhome is not the “greenest” vehicle on the road. Being so much heavier and less aerodynamic than a car it will inevitably use more fuel and emit more carbon.

On the other hand it is rather more carbon efficient than a commercial aircraft so if you are planning a holiday in Europe why not consider driving there in a luxury motorhome instead of flying.

Carbon smart holidays

The same principle applies to holidays in the UK. If you live South of us (and lets face it, most people do!) and plan to visit the Lakes for example, you can drive up in your own family car and pick up your motor home from us here in Shap. This has the environmental advantage that you have emitted much less carbon than if you had driven the motorhome from where you live.

But you get to benefit too! You will have spent less on fuel and thus have more to spend on making the most of your holiday.

Our luxury motorhome comes well equipped as standard but you can hire other items if you wish. That way you don’t have to weigh your car down by cramming it full of stuff. You will use less fuel driving up here and also your journey will be more comfortable! Your whole break will be less stressful as you have less to think about!
